Don’t miss this unprecedented opportunity to influence what land is used for in Bristol.

Do you ever walk past disused land or buildings in your area and see what great potential they have, yet feel that they’ll probably be developed into yet another block of flats? Do you feel overwhelmed by the complicated processes of City Council consultations with the public?

Bristol City Council is currently asking people, businesses and developers how they think land should be used in Bristol between now and 2026. It is urgent that we make use of this opportunity to begin creating and realising our dreams of sustainable, local living. This means we can insist on land for food rather than flats, for example.

The deadline for submitting your suggestions is 19 December.

We think this does not allow enough time for enough people in Bristol to find out about this opportunity, identify sites and make suggestions.

Get involved!
Come along on 3 Dec to find out how that disused petrol station or derelict building in your community could be turned into an orchard, community supported agriculture or other community space.
Sign our online petition asking Bristol City Council to extend the deadline to enable people to meaningfully contribute to this important process.

The meeting will run as follows:

19:10-19:20 Introduction by Claire Milne of Transition Bristol
19:20-19:40 Talk by Sarah O’Driscoll, Bristol City Council Planning Department
19:40-20:00 Questions
20:00-21:00 Open sessions on:
City Centre Planning-Learn how to find and plot land in your area using City Centre maps as an example.
How to do a land plotting walkabout in your area
Form filling surgery
Ideas for land use change
Neighbourhood space-if there are other people from your area

We look forward to seeing you there for an inspiring evening!
