Transition Bristol invites you to join an exploration of how money and
the economy will change in Bristol in a credit crunched, oil crunched,
climate changed world. Will you help create a real response?

Everyone now seems to be questioning the future validity of our debt
fueled, growth economy. The consequences for jobs, food and energy
prices, pensions and the ability of local and national governments to pay
for services and ‘essential works’ seem immense. But there is huge
potential in the people and communities in Bristol to create their own
response that is fair and leaves the environment intact for us all.

From June 2009, Transition Bristol will host a series of gatherings to
share and develop ideas, unlock creativity and inspire the people ofCoins
Bristol to adapt to the big changes already underway. We hope that
together we can promote and celebrate a real economy that works on a
human scale and ensures we live sustainably.

Maybe you’re involved in a local credit union, take part in a barter
scheme, the Freeconomy or a LETS? Do you think a Bristol Pound
might provide some safe haven from a collapsing stirling? If you work in
the struggling financial sector or have a back-round in economics or the
co-operative movement you might want to share your expertise and ideas
of how things could be done differently?

You can help harness the power behind Transition, one of the worlds
fastest growing social movements, to develop and spread the best of
Bristol’s vibrant alternative economy and bring it into the mainstream.
If you want to be involved, or just interested to know what others are
doing and thinking, then join us for an Open Space event and together
help create the way forward. Dates and location for June will be emailed
to you and published on the website

We will present and celebrate our collective response at a wider public
event Bristol in Transition – A City Re-imagined, on 15th
November 2009, to be held at the Bristol City Council Rooms on
College green.
