The next meeting of Sustainable Redland will combine a very short AGM with an interesting speaker.

The meeting is on Wed 17th, 7.30 at the Friends Meeting House, Hampton Road, Redland (in the Community Room).

Our talker is Trevor Houghton who among other things is a Rising Tide activist, and will lead us through a story of why it is important to confront big business on climate change issues.

Here is his talk preview:

‘Confronting and Creating: direct actions in the face of climate chaos.’

Trevor Houghton is a Bristol-based climate justice activist, involved with the direct action network – Rising Tide, and a researcher and consultant who has worked on climate change and sustainable energy issues for over 25 years.

In his talk he will set out the case for:
taking direct actions which confront the corporations who drive our destructive use of fossil fuels
alongside taking direct actions that might help create the resilient communities that will enable us all to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impacts.
