The next Bristol Energy Network meeting will focus on how community groups can engage with local and global energy issues. This meeting brings together three Bristol-based groups, The Converging World, Bristol Green Doors, and Bristol Energy Co-op with three examples of how to bridge this gap.

1. Power to the people

Wendy Stepthenson, CEO of The Converging World, will be speaking about the global context of climate change and resource depletion, and the The Converging World’s work in India with the people in extreme fuel poverty. She will further outline their approach to what can be done in the UK with community energy. ( www.theconvergingworld.org)

2. Bristol Green Doors in your neighbourhood

Dan Weisselberg will be talking about the origins and aims of Bristol Green Doors as a local approach to global energy issues. Building on the success of previous open home weekends Bristol Green Doors are planning their next event in March 2012. The meeting provides an opportunity to see how you or your group can get involved locally and mutually benefit from what they anticipate as being another very popular event.
